Tattoo Aftercare:

Remember that after leaving the tattoo salon, you are responsible for taking proper care of your new tattoo.

To ensure your tattoo heals beautifully, follow these simple aftercare steps.

IF A CLING FILM WAS APPLIED:

1. Try to keep the tattoo covered with plastic wrap for at least two days, but:

  • Remove the wrap 2-3 times a day and

  • Wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly before touching the tattoo.

  • Pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel and leave it uncovered for 5 minutes to let it dry completely.

  • Apply a new cling film.

2. After two or three days, remove the cling film and gently apply tattoo cream, such as EasyTattoo, H2Ocean or Bepanthen Tattoo ect.

3. Continue applying the cream until the tattoo is completely healed.

IF A “SECOND SKIN” WAS APPLIED:

1. Try to keep it on for at least 4 days. It is breathable and perfectly safe.

2. You can take a shower normally but avoid hot water, as the "second skin" may lose its stickiness.

3. Remove the "second skin" and wash your tattoo throughout with a gentle soap.

4. Dry your tattoo with a paper towel.

5. Use cream to keep it moisturised whenever needed.

Remember, every tattoo heals at its own pace. If you notice any unusual redness, swelling, or signs of infection, consult a healthcare professional.

Piercing Aftercare:

Follow these guidelines for a smooth healing process:

1. Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the piercing. Don't touch the piercing unnecessarily.

2. Cleanse your piercing with Saline Solution 0.9% 2 to 3 times a day. Leave it on until the crust (if present) is soft, and remove the crust with sterile gauze. Keep the piercing dry after the cleansing process but also after having a bath/shower. Avoid using cloth towels that may harbour bacteria.

3. Do not twist or rotate the jewellery. It makes the healing process longer and may cause complications.

4. Do not submerge or even splash the piercing in pools, lakes, seas, hot tubs or baths until it heals completely.

5. Use a mild, fragrance-free soap to clean the area during your regular shower routine. Rinse thoroughly.

6. Do not remove the piercing, even for a moment.

7. Leave the initial jewellery in place until the piercing fully heals unless advised otherwise by your piercer.

8. Do not put any pressure on the piercing for a minimum of a month. A doughnut pillow would be a brilliant choice for ear piercings.

9. Watch out for any bumps.

10. No fluid exchange.

11. Always keep your mobile and other accessories clean.

ORAL PIERCING:

Follow the relevant (1,2,3,6,7,10) points above, plus:

1. After eating, drinking (except water), or smoking, rinse your mouth with a saline solution or non-alcoholic mouthwash to keep the area clean.

2. Use a clean cotton swab or gauze soaked in saline solution to clean around the piercing.

3. Buy a new soft-bristled toothbrush and continue brushing your teeth twice a day with mild toothpaste. Be gentle around the piercing.

4. Avoid consuming alcohol and smoking during the healing period.

5. Stick to soft, non-spicy, non-acidic foods during the initial healing period.

6. Drink plenty of water to keep your mouth hydrated.

7. Refrain from oral contact (kissing, oral sex) during the healing process.

Be alert for any signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling or discharge. If you suspect an issue, consult your piercer or a healthcare professional.

Remember, individual healing times vary, so be patient.

Semi-permanent Makeup Aftercare:

The aftercare is crucial in obtaining a beautiful effect, so follow the below steps until the last flake is gone and the treated area is healed properly:

1. Straight after the procedure, you may need to tap gently the treated area with a clean paper to remove a secretion. Every time you repeat, use a new, clean paper. Ensure to wash your hands beforehand.

2. Keep the treated area as dry as possible for the initial healing period- about 7 days, until the flakes are gone. If you suffer from dry skin, you may apply a minimal amount of Bepanthen Tattoo cream at night. Do not rub the cream in. If there is a need to clean the treated area, gently wipe with cool boiled water on a cotton bud and then dry it gently with clean paper.

3. Take precautions when cleansing your face- do not wash with plenty of water, do not splash. Use cotton pads with a gentle cleanser and clean your face, omitting the treated areas.

4. No touching, rubbing, or picking at the treated area.

5. No makeup, creams, or skincare products on the treated area until the crust is gone.

6. No exposure of treated areas to direct sunlight and tanning beds. If you need to be outdoors, wear a hat. In the future, protect your well-healed makeup by applying sunscreen of SPF50.

7. No exercise or saunas during the healing process.

8. No hot showers or submerging in pools, oceans, lakes, hot tubs, etc., during the healing period.

9. Keep your hair away. If you usually wear a fringe, you should adjust your hairstyle for the initial healing period.

10. No sleeping on your face. Ensure your pillowcase is clean at all times.

11. No tinting your brows for 3 weeks.

12. In the case of eyeliner, no eyelash curlers for 7 days. You need to invest in a new mascara afterwards.

13. Attend a touch-up appointment to perfect the results and ensure the longevity of the semi-permanent makeup.

14. Your artist may provide specific aftercare instructions tailored to your needs and the type of semi-permanent makeup you received. Follow the advice closely for the best possible outcome.

It's normal to experience some redness, swelling and slight discomfort during the initial healing process. A cold compress may be applied but remember to separate the ice pack from the skin by two layers of towel paper. Also, flaking and itching is a natural healing process. In case of swelling, you may use an additional pillow.

If you experience any unusual or concerning symptoms, such as excessive swelling, redness, pain, or signs of infection, contact us or a healthcare provider for guidance.

Enjoy your new, beautiful semi-permanent makeup!
